The Grateful Dead Big Nike Highs
This shoe was for a customer from the Bay Area and is a fan of The Grateful Dead. I am very happy with how these shoes turned out. They are probably the most wearable ones I've made so far. They are unique, yet, are subtle enough where It doesn't scream custom. Each ankle panel has a Dead image. There are emblems that are synonymous to The Grateful Dead, along with the artist, Jerry Garcia. The front of the shoe has the Haight Ashbury intersection, an area of San Francisco important to the development of the hippie culture that is a part of The Grateful Dead legacy. The roses that are on the skull's head is echoed all through the red trim on the front. The shoe started out all light blue and white. I painted all of red panels (and the roses) and ankle panels.
