Miami Miami Vans 106 Vulcanized
These shoes aimed to capture the deco art culture of Miami. This shoe is a perfect example of how the owner of these shoes and I collaborated to create shoes that are representative of the customer. Having never been to Miami myself, the owner compiled an album of images that contained the art deco feel of Miami. I then played around with the positioning of these ideas and images and put them onto the shoe. On the outsides of the shoes are strips of buildings that are symbolic to Miami's art deco. One inside panel has a scene of a 1950's automobile in front of the Avalon Hotel, and the other one has lifeguard stands that fit the art deco theme. The backs contain my logo and a simple palm tree graphic, along with the famous Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road signs. The fronts boldly declare what this shoe is all about.
