Argyle Bass Vans Classic Slip-Ons
This pair was for a customer who wanted to get shoes for her boyfriend. He plays bass guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I painted an "A" note and a "D" note on the sides of the shoes, with A and D being their initials. That was a nice little way to incorporate the customer into her boyfriends shoe. He also likes argyle a lot, so that pattern was painted on the front panels. The argyle and bass guitar you see on the shoes are actually his own argyle and bass. The customer sent me a picture of him in an argyle sweater playing his bass, so I was able to make this shoe very personal, and thats the beauty of custom shoes. The insides of the shoes consist of headphones and speakers with some graphic designs. On the back is the skyline of Boston on one shoe, and an equalizer that corresponds to the skyline on the other shoe. If you look carefully, you can see that I've made the two mirror each other, another way to tie his interests together in this shoe.
